The joint shopping festival allowed shoppers to access and enjoy exclusive offers and promos from a variety of brands in a one-stop shop.

“The campaign is JetCommerce Indonesia’s way to support and invest back in our brand clients,” said Antonious Adang, CEO of JetCommerce Indonesia.

This partnership comes at an opportune time as it was scheduled right after the 9.9 festivals, a period of peak shopping activity in anticipation of the holiday season, and with the strategy of keeping the momentum of the double-digit campaign.

Shoppers were able to see the Shopee X JetCommerce exclusive banner directing them to a customized landing page built by JetCommerce Indonesia team. The landing page featured special offers from the world’s leading brands.

This pop-up store-styled campaign was a unique opportunity for shoppers to enjoy up to 70% in discounts, 50% cash back as well as various Flash Sales from select brands. Products featured in this campaign were electronics, sports apparel and equipment, fashion, and home appliances.

The impending holiday shopping pop-up store gave brands a boost in sales during the period. Among the brands participating in this campaign are Under Armour, Ando, DC Shoes, Quiksilver, Country Fiesta, Ocean Pacific, Specs, Mizuno, Piero, Lotto, and Beko.

New data from media and research company MiQ Asia Pacific show that consumers about 60% of surveyed shoppers across India, China, and Southeast Asia plan to spend more in this fourth quarter of 2022, compared with last year.

Additionally, shoppers in India (58%), China (50%), and China (47%) revealed that they had earmarked a higher shopping budget this year compared to 2021, higher than the increased spending rate globally (46%).

Because of increased inflation and higher cost of products and services, however, 70% of them said they will be more conscientious about what they spend, the report showed, by conducting more research, reading more reviews, looking for deeper discounts, and relying more on price matching or comparison shopping before making a purchase.

Globally, the report showed that 74% of those surveyed will be spending on essentials, 43% equally on fashion and beauty products, and 34% would equally spend on health and electronics products. In Asia, however, shoppers plan to spend more on consumer electronics and entertainment purchases, the report showed.

They will also tend to shop earlier to take advantage of pre-holiday low prices and combine online prices with those in physical stores. The surge in shopping in Asia is expected to start on Black Friday and Cyber Monday this November.

As the first and only basketball specialty concept store in the Philippines, Titan started as a brick-and-mortar retail business in 2010. The retailer established stores in posh locations and around the metropolis, such as Bonifacio Global City, Megamall, Conrad, Vertis, Alabang, and Solenad.

While a great part of its success can be attributed to its physical stores, the brand recognized the obvious opportunities of opening online stores. This prospect compelled Titan to become an e-commerce pioneer to open an online channel ahead of other industry players. The brand, however, needed internal expertise to operate a digital store. As a result, it chose to hand over its online business operations to a specialist e-commerce enabler, which provided guidance and expertise in the operations and logistics departments of running an e-commerce channel.

But like any other business, the company wanted to grow more, leading it to explore potential partners that could help it achieve more success.

JetCommerce was initially referred to Titan in 2016 by the regional team of one of its biggest brand partners. To succeed in this area, the company believed that simply employing a service provider was not enough. It needed a committed and capable partner.

Titan is particularly proud of the partnership’s biggest success thus far when JetCommerce provided expert support in 2020 as the Covid-19 pandemic exploded. The two entities working together enabled them to quickly serve the sudden burst in online demand and respond to the shift in consumer behavior.

Bringing IoT to a Broader Market 

According to a report by consulting company McKinsey, the number of IoT-connected devices globally is projected to hit 43 billion by 2023, an almost threefold growth from 2018. The same report revealed that investments in IoT technology could grow at 13.6 percent yearly in the next 10 years. Moving forward, growth could be attributed to the emergence of new sensors, more computing power, and better mobile connectivity.

For its part, the establishment of T3 Technology’s official marketplace stores will enable shoppers to benefit from having convenient access to T3’s products.

The marketplace stores will initially be pilot in Thailand and followed by Indonesia, then expand to cover the greater Southeast Asia ecommerce market.

Praised Emerging Giant in Southeast Asia

In their recent report by KPMG-HSBC JetCommerce was identified as one of the10 Leading Emerging Giants in Asia, in a report titled Emerging Giants in the Asia Pacific. The joint report studied 6,472 technology-focused start-ups with valuations of up to US$500 million in 12 key markets: Mainland China; India; Japan; Australia; China; South Korea; Hong Kong (SAR); Malaysia; Indonesia; Vietnam; Taiwan and Thailand.

The report cited that JetCommerce and its fellow emerging giants will make an enduring impact on the global business environment in the next 10 years by reshaping the way businesses operate and influencing how people manage their daily lives. The report cited two factors that are driving the Asia Pacific economy, which in turn are fuelling the growth of these companies: the rise of Asian economies as average incomes increases, and the increasing capability to deliver products and services with the support of digital technology.

Multichannel For All

In an additional 2022 milestone, JetCommerce signed a partnership with Canadian multinational ecommerce platform Shopify, as a Shopify Plus partner.

In talking about signing the Shopify partnership in a marketplace-dominant region, Mr. Paul added “Shopify gives brands full ownership of their online store and the relationship with their customers, while marketplaces give access to a broad general audience”.

“Brands having their own store is crucial for customer relationships, lifetime value, and branding. It also allows you to manage how you select to sell and market your products. All the while, marketplaces are important sales channels as they bring a lot of traffic and help you raise brand awareness. What’s important to know is that these two channels are not mutually exclusive. Marketplaces are essential due to the traffic that they generate, and having a direct-to-consumer site is a huge trust booster for customers,”.

“Brands will find that there are different audiences for each platform. It allows brands to market different products on each platform, and test what works best and where. And because you retain your first-party data on direct-to-consumer, your brand doesn’t need to go through all the pain and cost of acquiring new customers over and over again. The opportunity cost of not having your own direct-to-consumer channel far outweighs the cost of setting it up. Especially during tumultuous times where brands are fighting over margins to keep their businesses healthy”.

When asked what is the most strategic advantage of having a D2C channel, Paul replied: “The bottom line is, D2C enables better experiences with personalize products and it opens the beans for new commerce models like B2B, subscription, group buying, and omnichannel.”

The Challenge

Galderma identified the strong presence of competition in the online market, and specifically in online marketplaces such as Lazada, Shopee, and Zalora.The group’s competitors have been in e-commerce for a number of years now and knew how to operate in an online environment and win the market. This means that Galderma needed a rapid go-to-market strategy with the accumulated know-how and technology to utilize the major market shift.

Choosing JetCommerce

JetCommerce account management team was able to recognize a gap in the market and developed an innovative approach to enter a highly saturated market.
